Academic Programmes

As a higher education institution for teacher education, we are fully authorised to award doctoral and post-doctoral habilitation degrees. We enjoy a high reputation - both as a university and as a great place for studying, research and continuing education.

Our range of degree programmes covers a future-oriented spectrum both for professions in the field of education for all age groups as well as for research relevant to education.

We are particularly proud of our active teaching and learning culture, which gives students the opportunity to choose their individual focus and profile. As a graduate, you will start your professional career with profound expertise and practical skills - be it at a school or in another educational field. You are considering pursuing a degree in Teacher Education and are looking for a suitable programme of study offering good prospects for the future? You can even imagine pursuing a doctorate in the field of Educational Sciences?

Teaching is the job of your dreams?

At our university, students can pursue a degree in Teacher Education for Primary Schools and Secodary Schools I, for the German school system. Both programmes can optionally be studied as bilingual courses (BLL/CLIL). As a matter of principle, (at least) three subjects have to be studied. To be eligible to work as a teacher, you must complete both a bachelor's and a master's degree. Subsequently, you will need to complete the practical training phase ("Referendariat").
