Directions for use

Font size

You can adjust the font size displayed via your browser settings. When using the Internet Explorer, click on "Ansicht". Under "Zoom" you can either "Vergrößern" (enlarge) or "Verkleinern" (reduce) the font size of displayed texts. If you use the Firefox webbrowser, you can also change the font size via the "Ansicht" menu. Under "Zoom", select "Vergrößern" (enlarge) or "Verkleinern" (reduce). In Chrome, the "Ansicht" menu can be opened by clicking on the spanner icon at the top right-hand corner of the page. The zoom settings are then directly displayed and can be adjusted step by step. In all the web browsers mentioned, you can also use the key combination "Strg" (CTRL) and "+" or "-" to adjust the font size step by step.

Colour contrast

By clicking on the circle symbol at the top right-hand corner of the page, you can change the colour contrast. You can recognise that the contrast mode has been activated by the green colouring of the symbol.

Navigation

The basic page structure differentiates between navigation and content and is designed in a consistent manner throughout the website to allow the user to easily find the information they are looking for. The main navigation is located at the top of the page; it provides access to all main content areas of the website. When clicking with the cursor on an element of the main navigation, the corresponding submenu will expand. The user can select the desired topic or sub-item up to four levels deep. In addition, users can access target group-specific entry pages on the homepage,which will take them directly to the information that is relevant to them. The footer navigation for specific topics is located at the bottom of the page.

Downloading files

To open PDF files, you need a suitable PDF reader, for example the free Adobe Reader. As far as possible, we provide content in the form of accessible documents. Please do not hesitate to contact the website editorial office by e-mail if you need any documents that are not accessible to you. We will make every effort to make the content available to you in a suitable form. For further information, please also see our accessibility statement.

Search function

In the top right-hand corner of each page, you have the option of searching for specific terms. Just click on  the magnifying glass icon and enter your search term.All hits will be displayed according to the following categories:

  • content - web pages and/or website content
  • news and events - events or news items that are displayed in the corresponding sections of the page
  • documents - for example, legal bases, module catalogues or forms that are linked or referred to on the website
  • individuals - pages relating to individual staff members

Parts of our website can only be accessed by students and university staff. If you have a so-called PH account, you can log in by clicking on the person icon in the top right-hand corner of the page (login). This will take you to the intranet section of the website. In this section, you will find documents, information and advice, news, dates and deadlines as well as the university administration's services. Note that all content in this section is provided in German language.
